Daniel Rodriguez

Daniel Rodriguez has covered energy markets for five years with a primary focus on Mexico’s energy reform with OPIS and previously with S&P Global Platts and Calgary’s Daily Oil Bulletin. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he graduated in 2017 from the journalism undergraduate program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada, with a minor in economics and finance. Daniel has reported on critical landmarks in Mexico such as upstream and long-term electricity auction rounds, the first open season of gas system operator Cenagas, the liberalization of natural gas and refined products prices, major upstream discoveries like Zama and Ixachi, the election of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and energy liberalization under his administration.
